City of North Miami Beach Dedication Ceremony Celebrates the Legacy of Real Estate Pioneer Lillian Macken

Macken Companies joined City of North Miami Beach officials and community leaders on March 18, 2026, to unveil and dedicate a permanent public art sculpture at Aura North Miami Beach honoring the life and legacy of Lillian Macken, a pioneering force in South Florida real estate and one of the region’s first female brokerage leaders in the 1980s.

The dedication ceremony and ribbon-cutting marked a significant milestone for Aura North Miami Beach while reinforcing Macken Companies’ commitment to community enrichment, culture, and placemaking.

The 10-foot sculptural installation was created by internationally acclaimed Los Angeles-based artist duo Serge Beaulieu and Yelena Filipchuk of HYBYCOZO, known for immersive large-scale works inspired by mathematics, geometry, and the natural world. HYBYCOZO’s installations have appeared in Dubai, Istanbul, Las Vegas, San Francisco, West Palm Beach, and at the U.S. Embassy in Ankara, Turkey.

Commissioned by Macken Companies, the sculpture serves as both a tribute to Lillian Macken’s enduring impact on the South Florida real estate industry and a lasting cultural investment for the City of North Miami Beach ahead of Aura’s completion.

“Today’s unveiling represents more than public art; it is a celebration of legacy, vision, and community,” said Alan Macken, CEO of Macken Companies. “Lillian Macken helped pave the way for future generations in real estate through her leadership, determination, and passion for building stronger communities. We are honored to commemorate her life with a meaningful installation that will inspire residents and visitors for years to come.”

Aura is a transformative mixed-use development spanning an entire city block at 16955–17071 West Dixie Highway in North Miami Beach. The project features 373 luxury rental residences, 17,000 square feet of ground-floor commercial space, and an additional 9,000 square feet of covered retail terrace space.

Aura is being developed in partnership by Dallas-based Trinsic Residential Group and South Florida-based Macken Companies. Trinsic owns and is developing the residential portion of the project, while Macken Companies owns and leases the commercial component.

Designed by Coral Gables-based Corwil Architects, the project takes inspiration from the area’s maritime history and coastal environment and is strategically located at the gateway to North Miami Beach along the West Dixie Highway corridor.
